Alumni

Rice currently has 47,637 living alumni. Of the 43,475 alumni whose location is known, 29 percent reside in Houston, 17 percent live elsewhere in Texas, 42 percent live elsewhere in the United States and 3 percent live outside the United States. All students who have completed two semesters of study in degree programs at the university are Rice alumni.

All alumni are members of the Association of Rice Alumni (ARA). The purpose of the ARA is to establish and maintain a continuing relationship between the university and its alumni. To achieve this purpose, the ARA both sponsors programs that encourage intellectual stimulation and social interaction among alumni and enables alumni to contribute to and share in the enhancement of the university.
